Working Pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. For this role, employees are required to work fully onsite. Ready to play your part? As Head of Domain Delivery, you will lead the strategic interface between AWE's business units and Digital Services, ensuring business demand is accurately captured, prioritised, and translated into secure, scalable digital and data solutions. Overseeing a team of Domain Leads, you will drive alignment with enterprise architecture, strategic priorities, and delivery governance, strengthening domain-led change across the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
- Accountable for ensuring that Domain Leads effectively capture, prioritise, and scope digital initiatives in alignment with business value and strategic goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to Domain Leads, ensuring clear ownership of delivery outcomes and alignment with organisational objectives.
- Define and maintain strategic standards and policies for the development, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of digital solutions.
- Oversee domain-level data governance, ensuring compliance with data integrity, access, retention, and interoperability standards - especially across UK-US systems.
- Ensure robust governance across service design, testing, and transition, guaranteeing that digital services are fit for purpose and meet stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure domain delivery activities are integrated with enterprise-wide architecture, cybersecurity, and delivery assurance frameworks.
Who are we looking for?
- Proven Leadership of complex digital, data or IT-enabled transformation programmes across multiple business domains.
- Experience with structured delivery frameworks (e.g., portfolio management, architecture governance, agile/waterfall delivery models).
- Deep understanding of capability-led design and operating model transformation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills across business and technical functions.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities.

Important things you need to know
- You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE.
- The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.

We are at the start of a once in a generation - possibly two generations - programme to design and produce a replacement warhead for the UKβs continuous at sea deterrent. We will do this while continuing to deliver the Trident programme as well as managing ambitious state-of-the-art capital and construction projects - some of which have never been done before.
