Package: Starting Salary £40,000 (depending on suitability, qualifications and level of experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9‑day working fortnight. Flexible working requests are considered.
Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, safe systems of work and health and safety requirements
- Support Logistics and Facilities Managers as required
- Maintain Licence Condition 28 by ensuring all relevant examinations, inspections, testing and maintenance activities are completed to the required standards
- Participate in the team's on‑call rota
Required Qualifications
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and City & Guilds Level 3 MVCS qualification or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Light and Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Previous experience within a vehicle or fleet workshop environment
- LGV Licence Category C or C+E with relevant driving experience
- Willingness to learn new skills, undertake training and diversify within the role
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfort working in restrictive PPE and within hazardous environments when required
- Willingness to participate in on‑call arrangements
Desirable Qualifications
- PCV Licence (or the ability and willingness to train and achieve this qualification)
- Driver CPC qualification

Important Information
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role; the successful candidate will spend the majority of time on site at AWE. Clearance will be funded by AWE. Candidates must be British Citizens with at least 5 years of UK residence for SC clearance and 10 years for DV clearance.
