AWE is seeking a Senior Safety Assessment Specialist to support and deliver our Leadership & Management for Safety (LMfS) and Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) culture assessment programme with a focus on:
- Understanding of Nuclear Site Licence/Authorisation Conditions.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to safety culture and safety culture assessment.
- Awareness of UK and international safety standards relating to leadership and safety culture in a nuclear organisation.
- Solid understanding of Leadership & Management for Safety principles.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills, tailored to people across the enterprise, from our Frontline Workers to the senior leadership team.
- An ability to question and to retrieve information from multiple sources.
- Confidence in working with data, analytics and report writing.
- A commitment to promoting good practice across the organisation.
- Working in a high hazard and/or highly regulated industry (ideally nuclear).
- Applying safety culture assessment methodologies.
- Understanding regulatory requirements within the nuclear industry.
- Developing and delivering training.
- Conducting interviews, audits and data analysis.
You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
