Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all electrical, electronic, and process control work (planned and breakdown).
  • Provide first-line maintenance and breakdown support, including site-wide lighting.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, including Permit to Work, HV Safety Rules (EIS5), and isolation procedures.
  • Carry out electrical installation work in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
  • Assist with planning shift activities requiring electrical expertise.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide information for Single Event Analysis (SEA) and help implement corrective actions.
  • Record engineering information accurately in SAP.
  • Assist with mechanical systems when required.
  • Lead, coach, and support Electrical Apprentices.

Person Specification:

  • Motivated to work in a demanding environment.
  • HNC-qualified or equivalent experience in a Heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong practical electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop others.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and planned maintenance.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental policies.
