Atom Services Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Waste and Recycling Team located within the Place Directorate.

As the Recycling Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Council’s vision for Waltham Forest to become a safer, cleaner, and healthier borough is delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and progression of the recycling agenda within the borough, developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to improve recycling rates.
  • Manage staff and budget resources effectively to maximize recycling opportunities within the borough.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to develop and maintain effective working relationships, ensuring the successful implementation of recycling programs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes related to waste and recycling, and apply this knowledge to enhance recycling initiatives.
  • Analyze recycling data and produce reports to evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver educational campaigns to promote recycling awareness and encourage behavior change among residents and businesses.
  • Work closely with community groups, schools, and local organizations to engage and involve them in recycling initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on waste management and recycling matters to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for waste management, recycling, and environmental sustainability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
