We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Degree Qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our FM Technical Services Team.

As an embedded member of the team, you will take a lead role in managing the technical aspects of the Atom Services project.

This project aims to bring all leisure services under the management of LBTH (London Borough of Tower Hamlets) and requires a strong focus on organizing and managing the planned maintenance of all plant, equipment, and building services.

You will also be responsible for reviewing and reporting on condition surveys, as well as procuring the correct contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical aspects of the Atom Services project within the FM Technical Services Team.
  • Organize and manage the planned maintenance of all plant, equipment, and building services.
  • Review and report on condition surveys to identify areas of improvement and prioritize maintenance efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement maintenance plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify suitable contractors and suppliers for required services.
  • Procure contractors and suppliers through a competitive bidding process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of technical aspects with broader project goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the team and other departments as required.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in mechanical engineering and building services management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the project.
  • Prepare and present project updates, reports, and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading technical aspects of projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, building services, and plant equipment maintenance.
  • Experience in organizing and managing planned maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with condition survey methodologies and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
