  • Business Manager for their
  • APIs and Drug Delivery

Systems Division.

This position will be home based.

The geographical territory is UK and Ireland with regular visits to customers and occasional visits to their HQ office in the Midlands. This position is a full-time permanent role and will report to the Division Manager.

The candidate can be based anywhere in Ireland or the UK (Travel to Ireland would be approx. 2 / 3 times a month and the rest is travel weekly across UK)

  • Job Purpose
  • To create and maintain a profitable and sustainable Business Unit, specifically for Custom Synthesis in Ireland.
  • The Business Manager will develop long-term business relationships with Key Customers
  • The role holder will create unique and compelling sales propositions for the clients custom synthesis platform, APIs and drug delivery systems.
  • The Business Manager will drive business growth, interrogating tools available to develop new opportunities.

They will engage with the substantial technical, commercial and manufacturing support available to ensure growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Sales
  • Develop c50 Key accounts
  • Build an opportunity bank of 100 opportunities
  • Develop 30 50 active sales projects
  • Manage an existing account portfolio for growth
  • Establish strong, long-term client relationships
  • Communicate the clients value proposition to major customers on a regular basis and uncover unmet needs
  • Suggest solutions and innovative ideas with the technical team to meet customer needs
  • Act as the liaison between key customers and internal teams
  • Identify and approach new potential strategic customers
  • Manufacturer Relationships
  • Develop relationships with suppliers of all key product groups
  • Obtain marketing information using substantial resources available
  • Ensure adequate stock
  • Communicate with supplier partners (reports, sales figures, market information, product development
  • Cultivate new supplier partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to BSc level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Experience of the Irish pharmaceutical pipeline in APIs and drug delivery systems
  • Sales success in a B2B environment
  • Proven experience as a Business Manager/Account Manager in the Life Science Industry
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Business acumen to attract and develop new supplier partners
  • Experience of using CRM software and MS Office
  • Solution seeking attitude
  • Demonstrates Drive, a Growth Mindset and a Team player approach
  • Excellent analytical and organisation skills

  • Hold a full driving License

In return, our client is offering a package including a competitive basic salary of around £55,000 per annum (salary is very negotiable and dependent on experience), plus benefits which include bonus, an expensed company car, five weeks holiday, pension and healthcare.
