They are now seeking a Business Manager for their APIs, Excipients, Intermediates and Fine Chemicals Division. This position will be home based. The geographical territory is the UK and Ireland with regular visits to customers and to their HQ office. This position is a full-time permanent role and will report to the Division Manager.
Job Purpose
To create and maintain a profitable and sustainable Business Unit, specifically for Custom Synthesis for Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and allied markets in the UK and Ireland. The Business Manager will develop long-term business relationships with Key Customers. The role holder will create unique and compelling sales propositions for custom synthesis of molecules, APIs, excipients, and drug delivery systems. The Business Manager will investigate Market Authorisations and capitalise on new opportunities to grow their business unit. They will promote opportunities for customers to work with Innovation Services and Manufacturing Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop ca. 50 Key accounts
- Build an opportunity bank of between 100-200 opportunities
- Create 30-50 active sales projects
- Drive a minimum £550k gross margin for the business unit
- Manage existing accounts portfolio
- Establish strong, long-term client relationships
- Communicate with major customers on a regular basis and respond to specific queries
- Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet customer needs
- Act as the liaison between key customers and internal teams
- Identify and approach new potential strategic customers
Manufacturer Relationships
- Develop relationships with suppliers of all key product groups
- Obtain marketing information
- Ensure adequate UK stock
- Communicating with supplier partners (reports, sales figures, market information, product development)
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to BSc level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline
- Knowledge of the UK and global pharmaceutical pipeline, specifically in APIs, excipients, drug delivery systems and formulation markets
- Demonstrate sales experience in a B2B environment
- Proven experience in a commercial (and ideally technical role as well) in the Chemical Industry
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Business acumen to attract and develop new supplier partners
- Experience of using CRM software and MS Office
- Solution seeking attitude
- Demonstrate Drive, have a growth mindset and a team player approach
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Hold a full driving License
In return, our client is offering a package including a competitive basic salary of up to £65,000 per annum (salary is negotiable and dependent on experience), plus benefits which include bonus, an expensed company car, five weeks holiday, pension and healthcare.
