Different that's for sure…:As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) you are part of our Testing team where you are responsible for building fully automated Functional & Non-Functional tests using the latest test frameworks and tools. Our Technology function is organised into 5 Value Streams, with a Delivery team aligned to each of these, focused on delivering tech change safely and at pace to support our continued growth.
In this role you’ll make a tangible difference to Atom by continuously driving testing efficiencies and effectiveness within the Value Stream Delivery teams, on our journey to become and elite Technology organisation. You’ll collaborate with Platform Engineers to embed automation into build pipelines to support with continuous testing and advise our Software Engineers on Unit Testing best practice to enable shift-left defect detection.You will:- Be an advocate of test automation and shift-left best practices- Develop, maintain, and execute fully automated Functional and Non-Functional tests for new or existing features using the latest automation frameworks- Design test approaches and perform exploratory testing as required- Provide day-to-day hands-on support and maintenance of our automation lab and test tools- Support initiatives and providing technical input into driving and implementing changes to our Test Automation and NFT frameworks and methodologies.- Build up a domain knowledge of the technical landscape and various systems and applications under test- Provide coaching and technical advice to other testers and value stream members including automation best practices.What do we need from you?- Considerable experience in an SDET/Test Automation role.- Hands on experience in automation testing using automation tools (one of more of Appium, Postman, Selenium, Jenkins, Gitlab).- Hands-on experience of creating test automation code for various types of testing (unit, functional, performance, BDD, contract).- Excellent knowledge of testing principles, process, methodologies, and test tooling including Jira- Ability to interrogate SQL and non-SQL databases- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.- Experience of working within an Agile environment- A passion for new technology, industry trends and tooling- Experience of App and Web (GUI) and back-end microservice testing- Improvisation skills and the ability to think outside the box to solve complex technical challenges.What you'll get from us:- Salary £55K- Flexible hybrid & remote working- 4-day work week- Incredibly generous company pension scheme (maximum of 13% of Atom input – you can put in more) – ‘All About Me’ fund: £200 per year to spend on personal development. – 22.5 days annual leave plus public holidays- Private Medical Insurance, Health Cash Plan & Life Insurance- Electric Vehicle Scheme**PLEASE NOTE: You must have the legal right to work in the UK to apply for this role as Atom is unable to support Visa Applications/Sponsorship**Atom is an equal opportunities employer.
