The bank that’s on a mission to make finance faster, simpler and way more human. We’ve ditched the stuffy banking model to build something that actually works for our customers, whenever and wherever they need us. To make this happen, we’re looking for like-minded people who can help us reach our goals and think differently. If you’re ready to build the future of banking, we’d love to meet you.
What will your ‘typical’ day look like? Different that’s for sure… Atom is the UK’s first app-based bank, and we’re on a mission to redefine what a bank should be. We sit in the sweet spot between high-street banks and specialist lenders - solving the “pain points” others can’t. As a Commercial BDM for London & South East, you’ll be the face of Atom in the field. You won’t just be chasing leads; you’ll be managing a high-concentration region with a waiting list of brokers ready to be engaged. This is about freeing up capacity, onboarding new partners, and training them accordingly. Expect to be out on the road for 3 of your 4 day week, delivering presentations, onboarding brokers, and balancing a heavy flow of emails to ensure every application is high-quality and “first time right”. You’ll be part of an energetic team that has grown from £300m to £1.6bn in lending with ambitious plans for continued growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Strategic Growth: Identify, build, and maintain expert-level relationships with commercial finance brokers and SME intermediaries.
- Onboarding & Training: Act as the primary technical leader in the field, training brokers on Atom’s systems, products, and lending criteria.
- Quality Control: Manage the front-line quality of applications, ensuring they meet our regulatory standards and deliver the right outcomes for customers.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Atom at industry events (NACFB, etc.) and act as a conduit for market intelligence back to our senior leadership.
- Performance: Deliver against metrics for broker interactions, lending volumes, and engagement levels.
What do we need from you?
- Proven experience in a commercial lending role (BDM, Account Manager, or Broker) with a solid grasp of the SME lending landscape.
- You need a high degree of accountability and self-management - you’re the master of your own diary.
- The ability to deliver compelling presentations and build relationships across diverse communities.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience of delivering against commercial targets.
- A full, clean driving license and your own vehicle.
What you’ll get from us?
- Salary of £55k (OTE £77k)
- Car Allowance of £8k
- 4-day work week
- Incredibly generous company pension scheme (maximum of 13% of Atom input – you can put in more)
- ‘All About Me’ fund: £200 per year to spend on personal development.
- 22.5 days annual leave plus public holidays
- Private Medical Insurance, Health Cash Plan & Life Insurance
- Enhanced Parental Leave
- Electric Vehicle Scheme
