Company My client is a well established and highly regarded main contractor based in Bristol. They work on projects valued up to £10m, covering new build, refurbishment, general construction, health care, education, commercial, heritage, conservation and residential sectors. Projects are typically within a 40‑mile radius of Bristol, including South Wales.

As a Project Manager you will take delivery responsibility for projects up to £10m in value. The role is site‑based, with locations generally between Bristol and Cardiff. You will report to either the Contracts Manager or the Operations Manager, depending on the project.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site teams and provide guidance and mentoring as required.
  • Oversee works on site to ensure smooth delivery of projects to final client handover.
  • Take delivery responsibility for each project within the £10m value range.
  • Lead the first project – a partial refurbishment in central Cardiff valued at approximately £7.5m, involving window replacement, roofing, ceilings, partitions, bulkheads, concrete repairs, mechanical works and scaffolding in a live building with segregated work areas.

Qualifications

  • Several years experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor, having managed a varied portfolio of projects.
  • Experience with both new build and refurbishment projects, preferably with values up to £10m.
  • Construction‑related degree, HNC/HND, or NVQ level 5 or above.
  • Computer literate, confident and capable of leading site teams.
  • Preferred location between Cardiff and Bristol.
