The role at a glance
Home games are on Sundays at the techsoc.com Stadium, Barkingside, Ilford (IG6 1NB). Away games are across Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, so you’ll need your own transport. Training sessions are optional. We’re happy to split the season between two therapists if that suits your diary better.
About us
Atlético London is an independent women’s club at Tier 5 of the pyramid, England Football Accredited, and one of the highest ranked independent women’s sides in London. We’re building our medical setup from the ground up and want someone to shape it with us: your protocols, your kit list, your say in how we look after our players as we climb the pyramid.
What you’ll do on matchdays
- Arrive 90 minutes before kick-off at home and away fixtures
- Lead pre-match strapping, taping and treatment
- Check the medical bag, defibrillator and emergency equipment are complete and in date
- Agree the Emergency Action Plan with the home club, match officials and opposition medical staff
- Provide pitchside emergency care, including head injury and concussion management
- Make return-to-play decisions in line with the FA concussion guidelines
- Handle any hospital referral and keep the Operations Director informed
- Give the Head Coach a clear availability update before each matchday
At training (optional)
- Assess and treat injuries
- Support players’ safe return to training and matches
What you’ll need
- Current registration with the HCPC, the Society of Sports Therapists or BASRaT
- A pitchside qualification (IFAiF minimum, or willingness to complete ITMMiF, which we’ll fund)
- The right to work in the UK on a self-employed basis
Early-career therapists are very welcome.
