Responsibilities

  • Employee Responsibilities
  • Lead and organise the Housekeeping team ensuring they are in the right place at the right time, to enable a great experience to our guests
  • Supervise, guide and motivate Housekeeping Assistants and Supervisors on the job
  • Understand and role model the Atlas Values and associated behaviours
  • Nurture a learning culture, coaching and developing others to success and managing underperformance appropriately
  • Communicate effectively, ensuring that Housekeeping Assistants and Supervisors are aware of information that will affect their shift as well as Atlas updates and priorities
  • Undertake effective job check ins with Housekeeping Assistants and Supervisors
  • Support the Hotel Manager in ensuring that all new employees receive a warm ‘Atlas welcome’ and thorough induction
  • Understand HR procedures and raise conduct and other such concerns to the Hotel Manager
  • Guest Experience
  • Deliver a great guest experience through ensuring the housekeeping operation/team runs smoothly and effectively, achieving KPIs as required
  • Monitor and supervise the work of the Housekeeping team
  • Undertake room checks as required
  • Take responsibility for the effective rostering of Housekeeping staff
  • Communicate the daily tasks and priorities to Housekeeping Assistants in line with Company processes

  • Be an active and effective team member, working together to achieve hotel goals
  • Monitoring any issues with rooms to other members of the team (eg Maintenance) as soon as possible, escalating on behalf of the team as necessary
  • Ensuring the Housekeeping team receive full training for their roles and managing any issues through coaching and performance management
  • Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and Atlas standards in both public and private areas, taking pride in the hotel and its team
  • Effectively manage complaints using our ‘service recovery’ principles
  • Understand and have a good knowledge of the products and services available at the hotel
  • Understand guest satisfaction scores and maintain a good knowledge of hotel areas of focus
  • Demonstrate good local knowledge and proactively provide this to guests when required
  • Maintain compliance standards
  • Positively represent the Atlas brand
  • Take accountability for own development, career progression and growth in role
  • Understand budget targets and work within these to manage staffing costs

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in Housekeeping roles, ideally in a supervisory position
  • Previous people management experience
