The purpose of this Manager level role is to support in the implementation of our Equipment Procurement Strategy including OFCI (‘Owner Furnished Contractor Installed’) for Long-Lead Equipment (LLE) under the direction of the VP Procurement, supporting our wider European construction program. We are looking for a procurement professional to support the management of all aspects of critical equipment procurement with a strong focus on building mutually beneficial partnerships with our OEM suppliers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supports the implementation of our Equipment Procurement Strategy (including OFCI).
- Contributes to the development and implementation category strategies for critical equipment including Electrical, Mechanical/Thermal, and White Space.
- Continues to develop our panel of market leading OEM partners to support and enable European project delivery.
- Supports the negotiation of robust European framework agreements to enable efficient and robust transactions.
- Coordinates tender/procurement activity in collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholder groups to achieve Delivery-On-Time as a key metric for success.
- Contributed to the adoption of a balanced scorecard approach with a strong focus on PUE improvement, energy usage reduction and sustainability.
- Supports the preparation, negotiation and execution of contracts (SOWs) which complement our PSL/Framework contracting strategy.
- Support commercial optimisation of key packages with a strong focus on ‘standardising’ equipment whilst satisfying localisation requirements.
- Works with GCs (General Contractors) to drive adoption of the OFCI strategy and LLE PSL.
- Optimises capital, cashflow and total cost of ownership and prepares/manages reporting dashboards.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant undergrad degree or post grad qualification in Procurement & Supply Chain, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable professional development relevant to the Construction and/or Data Centre industry.
- Equipment procurement experience in the Data Centre industry or similar ‘critical’ environments.
- Has worked for companies with pan European or Global operations, and can demonstrate the ability to navigate geographic, legal, language and cultural complexity.
- Deep knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical/Thermal and White Space categories and associated suppliers and purchasing strategies.
- Has operated an ‘Owner Furnished Contractor Installed’ (OFCI) procurement model for critical Long-Lead Equipment.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, enabling quick decision making.
- Excellent people and communication skills. Can challenge, educate and influence stakeholders.
- Self-motivator with strong attention to detail.
