South West London / M4 Corridor (Reading / Slough / Swindon) Permanent | 40 Hours Per Week £60,000 – £65,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

Atlas Workplace Services is seeking an experienced Contract Manager with a strong M&E and Hard FM background to lead service delivery across a portfolio of contracts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, technical problem-solving, and delivering high-quality Hard FM services. You’ll manage a blend of resident and mobile engineering teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders—ensuring compliance, performance, and outstanding client satisfaction.

About the Role

As Contract Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for operational delivery, financial performance, and client relationships across your portfolio. You’ll ensure all assets are compliant, maintained, and performing in line with contractual KPIs and SLAs. You’ll also lead mobilisation activities, manage lifecycle planning, and drive continuous improvement across services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract & Client Management
    • Manage a portfolio of Hard FM contracts (typically up to £1–£1.5m value)
    • Ensure delivery meets all contractual KPIs, SLAs, and compliance requirements
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and service excellence
    • Lead mobilisation including asset verification, condition surveys, and PPM implementation
  • Operational Delivery
    • Oversee delivery of PPM, reactive, remedial, and small works
    • Ensure all maintenance is completed in line with SFG20 standards
    • Support engineering teams in diagnosing complex issues and delivering solutions
    • Carry out regular site visits to drive performance and identify improvements
  • Commercial & Financial Management
    • Full ownership of quotations and cost management, including supplier challenge and approval
    • Manage P&L performance, budgets, and financial targets
    • Produce business cases and project costings for client approval
    • Deliver monthly and ad-hoc reporting with clear improvement plans
  • Supplier & Team Management
    • Manage subcontractors, ensuring high performance and value for money
    • Lead and support a mix of resident and mobile engineers
    • Drive a high-performance, customer-focused culture across teams
    • Support recruitment, development, and succession planning
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure full compliance with all H&S policies, statutory requirements, and governance procedures
    • Maintain accurate PPM and statutory records
    • Lead incident investigations and escalate serious concerns
    • Promote a safe working culture with authority to stop unsafe work
  • Continuous Improvement & Strategy
    • Drive service innovation, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives
    • Identify lifecycle and asset improvement opportunities
    • Support new business opportunities, including surveys and tender submissions

About You

Qualifications

  • Recognised M&E trade qualification
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience managing Hard FM or multi-service contracts
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems and asset lifecycle management
  • Proven experience managing P&L, budgets, and financial performance
  • Experience working with corporate clients, including reporting and review meetings
  • Strong leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to drive compliance, performance, and continuous improvement
