Atlas Workplace Services is looking for a motivated and detail-driven Trainee Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or Commercial Operations who wants structured development, hands-on learning, and the chance to grow into a fully capable Estimator.
This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, with regular travel to sites and 2+ days per week in Milton Keynes.
About the Role
As a Trainee Estimator, you'll support the estimating team by organising tender documentation, preparing reports, liaising with suppliers, and helping deliver accurate pricing for new and existing contracts. You'll receive full training to enable you to review tender packs, produce asset registers, check subcontractor quotes, and support the mobilisation and commercial teams. This role is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills and a desire to build a career in FM estimating.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep all team folders updated and request missing information when required.
- Build strong working relationships across the business and with suppliers.
- Update bid trackers, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Review tender packs and check all required documents are included.
- Produce summary reports highlighting risks, inconsistencies, or gaps.
- Convert asset data into usable asset registers for pricing models.
- Identify missing information and raise clarification requests.
- Work with Procurement to secure subcontractor quotes on time.
- Validate quotes to ensure alignment with tender specifications.
- Maintain structured audit trails of communications and pricing changes.
- Prepare pricing summary documentation.
- Support mobilisation teams with accurate pricing and asset information.
- Work with Procurement to finalise specialist pricing.
- Support minor contract variations.
- Provide pricing insights to the commercial team.
- Maintain and update team folders with new contract information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Skills & Experience
- Strong MS Office skills especially MS Excel.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within the FM industry.
Desirable (Advantageous but Not Essential)
- Experience (including placement or internship) in FM, engineering, commercial, or construction environments.
- Basic understanding of costings, budgeting, or tender documentation.
- Demonstrated passion for the Facilities Management industry.
