We are looking for a Resident Building Services Engineer to join our team at a key site in Basingstoke. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being site-based, building strong relationships, and taking pride in maintaining a well-run, high-profile building.

About the Role

As a Resident Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with the PPM schedule, alongside a professional and responsive reactive maintenance service across the site. You will also step into a senior role when required, supporting and supervising other engineers and subcontractors in the absence of the Contract Manager or Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver PPM in line with SFG20 across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC systems, including FCU, VRF, VAV, AHUs, pumps, controls and plant.
  • Carry out statutory and compliance tasks including weekly sprinkler and fire alarm testing.
  • Maintain water systems, including calorifiers, pressure vessels and HSG274 water hygiene tasks on domestic and closed-loop systems.
  • Complete electrical maintenance such as lighting and emergency lighting, LED/component replacement and small installations.
  • Undertake basic plumbing works including valves, taps and sanitary systems.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with training, competency and qualifications.

Reactive Maintenance

  • Liaise with the client or site contact on arrival.
  • Assess faults and Health & Safety considerations.
  • Complete repairs where safe and within competency.
  • Keep the client and Head Office informed through to completion.

Administration & Client Experience

  • Produce clear, accurate engineers reports to support follow-up actions and purchasing.
  • Manage company tools, resources and housekeeping standards.
  • Represent Atlas professionally on site, building strong client relationships.
  • Recommend improvements, escalate issues appropriately and report opportunities to the Customer Account Manager.

About You

  • Proven experience in building services maintenance with a strong Mechanical and Electrical background.
  • Confident delivering both PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting others when needed.
  • Professional, customer-focused and committed to safe working practices.

Qualifications, Certifications & Training

  • Essential: GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Desirable: IOSH (or equivalent), 18th Edition, 2391 Test & Inspect, HNC Building Services, NVQ Level 2 Plumbing & Heating, C&G Level 3 Heating & Ventilation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar building services or maintenance role.
  • Experience delivering multi-discipline maintenance.
  • Background in engineering or property maintenance.
  • Strong domestic plumbing and heating knowledge.
  • Organised, adaptable and able to manage priorities effectively.
