Electrician – Aerospace & Defence | Glasgow | Permanent

Location: Glasgow

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Work Pattern: Onsite / Shift-Based

Salary: £38,662 per annum

Shift Allowance: Up to 33% additional

Electrician Job – Glasgow

We are recruiting an experienced Electrician to join a global Aerospace & Defence manufacturing organisation based in Glasgow. This is a permanent, onsite role offering long-term security, structured shifts, and competitive pay.

Trade papers are mandatory and must be submitted with your application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical installation work within an industrial / manufacturing environment
  • Installation of multi-core, single-core and coaxial cables
  • Electrical wiring, cable routing and cable containment
  • Installation and assembly of:
  • Junction boxes
  • Fuse panels
  • Consoles
  • Transformers
  • Switchgear and control panels
  • Cable termination, testing and equipment installation
  • Use of hand tools and power tools in line with health & safety regulations
  • Working from electrical schematics, drawings and wiring diagrams

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Electrician with completed Modern Apprenticeship
  • Valid Trade Papers (required at application stage)
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, industrial or aerospace environments
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation drawings and schematics
  • Health & Safety knowledge including:
  • SHE Induction
  • COSHH
  • Working at Height
  • Ability to work onsite and as part of a skilled electrical team

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience within Aerospace, Defence or Heavy Engineering
  • Previous shift-based working experience
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical standards
