Consultant – Materials Engineer (Metallurgy) – Circa £55k depending on skills and experience, hybrid working available, based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Pension & Enhanced Leave allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays available.

Required experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified to degree level (BEng/BSc) in metallurgy or materials science
  • Detailed knowledge on ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy
  • Detailed knowledge and experience on metal forming and processing
  • Experience of working with and developing a team of metallurgists
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of metallurgical related workmanship Standards and Process Instructions
  • Detailed knowledge of the capability and use of Metallurgical Mechanical and Metallographic testing

My client are a large and rapidly expanding global Defence company looking for a Consultant – Materials Engineer (Metallurgy) to become the authority in manufacture of metallic parts (Forgings, Castings and Rolling) for an ongoing Submarine programme.
