Permanent position, onsite work Monday to Thursday (08:00–16:30) and Friday (08:00–13:00). Location Clyde. Pension & enhanced leave allowance available.
Role:
Deliver classroom and simulator-based training, primarily focused on Astute Class submarines. The role ensures armed forces are fully prepared to operate and maintain weapon handling systems safely and effectively across submarine platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Provide training to students with a wide range of experience, predominantly in the Weapons Electrical (WE) Weapons Handling discipline, including generic training such as Astute Class Familiarisation and Submarine Qualification Training (SMQ).
- Ensure all training is delivered to prescribed standards and contractual requirements.
- Maintain courseware: liaise with the Training Design (TD) team and support routine review and amendment of WE Weapons Handling courseware.
- Support the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact on existing WE courseware.
- Liaise with the TD team to implement required changes.
- Conduct administration and reporting activities associated with training delivery to meet contractual requirements.
- Provide SME advice in support of Marine Training Directorate and deliver bids/jobs efficiently in terms of cost, schedule, and quality.
Required experience:
- Sound knowledge of submarine Tactical Weapons Engineering systems.
- Experience in Weapons Handling operations.
