Stress Engineer

Stress Engineer – Rate to be discussed, 1 year FTC, on-site working. Location, Derby or Bristol. Responsibilities: Perform detailed stress and fatigue calculations on nacelle and structural components. Support critical part lifting activities for components used in PW and GE systems. Collaborate with materials and design teams to help define and validate new materials with fatigue considerations. Interpret and apply FEM results and hand calculations to assess structural integrity. Document analysis results and provide technical recommendations. Participate in design reviews and provide input on stress-related design improvements. Transfer and adapt existing skillsets to new applications and environments. Required experience: Proven experience in stress analysis within automotive, motorsport (F1), or aerospace sectors. Strong understanding of fatigue life prediction and material behaviour under cyclic loading. Familiarity with nacelle systems and non-turbo-machinery components. Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus). Ability to perform hand calculations and validate FEA results. Experience with critical part lifting methodologies.
