An offshore transmission owner operator is strengthening its asset management capability to support the operation of high voltage (HV) offshore transmission assets within the UK OFTO market. This role sits within a lean owner-operator model and focuses on the technical asset management of offshore transmission infrastructure as assets transition fully into operations.
The Asset Engineer will support the safe, compliant, and high-performing operation of offshore transmission assets, working closely with outsourced O&M providers, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities- Day-to-day technical asset management of HV offshore transmission assets
- Oversight of outsourced O&M providers and contractor performance
- Technical governance across offshore substations, export cables, and grid connection assets
- Ensuring HSE, regulatory, and compliance standards are met
- Identification and mitigation of operational and asset risks
- Incident management, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Stakeholder engagement with advisors, insurers, regulators, and system operators
- Electrical or power engineering background
- Experience managing HV transmission assets such as offshore substations, export cables, protection and control systems, or switchgear
- Exposure to offshore wind, OFTOs, utilities, or owner-operator environments
- Strong understanding of electricity transmission, grid interfaces, and contractor-led O&M models
- Comfortable working in lean teams with extensive use of external service providers
Location: UK based. Hybrid working, with a London presence typically required.
