Overview
Responsible for HV system integration, operational supervision, and electrical safety across HV/MV/LV systems. Ensures safe operations, reviews RAMS and method statements, and supports Authorised Persons.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with country-specific electrical regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate transmission activities; manage team rotas; improve operational and safety procedures.
- Define and enforce electrical safety rules; oversee commissioning of substations and MV/HV/LV systems.
- Manage switching activities and safety documentation; coordinate commissioning and stakeholder communication; review HV scope and method statements.
Key Tasks
- Manage electrical safety compliance; plan and execute commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with grid operators and attend meetings; perform outage management and network control.
- Prepare and verify switching schedules and diagrams; conduct site inspections and audits.
- Deliver training and mentor Authorised Persons.
Deliverables
- Input to commissioning plans and documentation; participation in audits and FAT/SAT reporting.
- Verification of switching programs; support resource planning; provide technical input to design.
Decision Authority
- Authority over MV/HV switching and isolations; issue electrical safety documentation; manage permit office and operational staff.
Qualifications
- Strong HV operations and commissioning experience.
- Relevant electrical qualifications; minimum 3 years' experience with onshore substations.
- Valid GWO and HUET certifications (if required).
