The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be medically fit, competent, and qualified in accordance with international standards to S.T.C.W., or other pertinent regulations, including the Company’s own requirements for command.
  • Ensure the implementation of the Company’s Safety and Environmental policy onboard the vessel.
  • Motivate the crew in the observation of the Company’s policies to maintain high operational standards.
  • Issue instructions and orders in a clear and understandable manner to all relevant personnel.
  • Ensure that operational instructions for the vessel are carried out and recorded appropriately.
  • Regularly review the SMS and submit feedback to the DPA as part of compliance responsibilities.
  • Exercise due diligence to confirm that the vessel is in a seaworthy condition before any voyage commences.
  • Stand navigation, port, and anchor watches to maintain navigation, communication, and lookout duties.
  • Take charge during critical operations such as approaching or leaving port, navigating inside port limits, or during restricted visibility to ensure vessel safety.
  • Ensure that either the Master or Chief Officer is on board at all times and that the Chief Officer is informed of the Master’s absence.
  • Manage cargo calculations based on ullage, deadweight scale, and onboard equipment to determine trim and stability.
  • Oversee all loading and unloading operations in line with the Trim & Stability booklet.
  • Ensure adequate maintenance of charts and nautical publications.
  • Leave detailed instructions in the Bridge Order Book during critical situations or when the vessel approaches a harbor or operation site.
  • Manage the composition and execution of a Passage Plan.
  • Manage the performance appraisal of ship personnel on board.
  • Manage the signing-on / signing-off of all personnel on the Ship’s Articles.
  • Ensure that safety and vessel familiarisation is given to all new ship personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date the official Log Book and other documentation.
  • Supervise the Waste Management Plan and maintain up-to-date the Garbage Disposal Logbook.
  • Maintain up-to-date the medical locker and provide basic medical care.
  • Overall responsibility for the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) on board.
  • Ensure that any accident or hazardous occurrence is reported to the DPA.
  • Liaise with the Charterer, Personnel and Engineering departments.
  • Manage adequate maintenance of supplies/provisions on board.
  • Prepare an effective hand-over Report for the relieving master and discuss details thereof with him.
  • Execute measures to prevent and/or reduce pollution to the environment.
  • Act as Ship Security Officer and implement the Ships Security Plan onboard the vessel.
