Atlas NextWave is a global recruitment and workforce solutions company supporting the energy, marine, and renewables sectors. As we continue our growth journey, we are looking for an Assistant Contract Manager to join our Bristol team and support this next phase. Join Atlas NextWave and take ownership of contract reviews, bid support, and client onboarding in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing multiple priorities, working with cross-functional teams, and taking ownership of complex workflows from start to finish.
About the Role
The Assistant Contract Manager is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and review of client contracts, ensuring risks are identified, positions are aligned and agreements are delivered in line with Atlas standards. With a primary focus on contract management, the role requires strong judgement, ownership and the ability to operate independently, progressing workstreams from initial review through to resolution and agreement. The Assistant is expected to take accountability for outcomes, proactively manage stakeholders and contribute to consistent, high-quality contract delivery across the business.
Responsibilities
- Contract Review & Coordination: Take ownership of the end-to-end contract review process for client agreements, including MSAs, framework agreements, call-off terms and amendments. Review contracts against Atlas Nextwave templates, standard positions and agreed playbooks, identifying commercial, legal and operational risks. Produce structured contract review outputs, including risk summaries, proposed amendments and recommended positions for internal discussion. Utilise internal tools to ensure consistency, efficiency and auditability of all reviews. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Tax, Finance, Insurance, Commercial) to validate positions and resolve key issues. Support the negotiation process by tracking comments, managing iterations and maintaining version control. Escalate non-standard positions, high-risk clauses or commercial deviations in line with agreed thresholds. Maintain accurate and auditable records of contract reviews, decisions and final agreed positions. Continuously build knowledge and judgement to progress towards increasingly independent contract ownership.
- Deadline, Mailbox & Workflow Management: Manage the Contract Management mailbox and workflow, ensuring all incoming agreements and requests are triaged, prioritised and progressed. Track contract review timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are aligned. Proactively identify and communicate delivery risks, bottlenecks or competing priorities, proposing solutions where required.
- Ownership of Questionnaires, Forms & Onboarding: Oversee client onboarding requirements, ensuring questionnaires, compliance documents and onboarding materials align with agreed contractual positions. Assess requirements and delegate inputs appropriately to the Business Support Administrator and relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Tax, Finance, QHSE), retaining overall ownership of quality and submission. Coordinate and review contributions to ensure accuracy, consistency and alignment with contractual and commercial positions. Maintain clear and auditable records of onboarding documentation to support compliance and audit requirements.
- Contribution to Tender & Bid Activity (As Required): Provide input into tender submissions where required, including reviewing terms, identifying risks and ensuring alignment with internal standards and positions, as applicable. Support consistency between tender commitments and contractual obligations.
- Independence, Quality, Accountability & Collaboration: Operate with a high degree of independence, taking responsibility for progressing workstreams while knowing when to proceed and when to escalate. Take full ownership of outputs, ensuring they are accurate, complete and aligned to agreed standards. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, communicating in a clear, concise and purposeful manner. Build effective working relationships across Commercial, Legal and Support functions to enable efficient and aligned contract delivery. Contribute to consistency, knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement within the Contracts function.
