Overview

Hours: 40 hours across 5 days per week. Salary: up to £42,250 per annum. Atlas Hotels is hiring a Hotel Manager at the Holiday Inn Express Hemel Hempstead.

What you will do

Your Hotel Manager role is to lead hotel operations to deliver a great guest experience, manage profitability, and ensure a safe and well‑maintained property.

You will focus on employee engagement, guest delight, and running the hotel effectively.

  • Your Team
  • Responsible for performance, development and retention of the hotel team, understanding what motivates your team and how to lead, engage, motivate and recognise them
  • Role model Atlas values, communicate purpose, priorities and hotel targets
  • Nurture a learning culture, prioritising learning, feedback, growth and skill development
  • Recruitment and onboarding of new team members, including thorough induction and positive probationary experience
  • Reward great performance consistently to maintain a culture of recognition
  • Manage performance or behavioural issues with tough conversations when necessary
  • Support work–life balance with fair rostering (4 weeks worth of rotas)
  • Ensure team members follow Atlas Standing Operating Procedures
  • Your Guests and Your Hotel
  • Ensure every guest has a great experience and would stay again or recommend the hotel
  • Model excellent guest interactions and support service recovery to leave guests happy
  • Interpret guest feedback, identify trends and create action plans to address dissatisfaction and score drivers
  • Ensure the hotel passes evaluations and audits with flying colours
  • As a 24‑hour operation, you spend time across shifts to be visible, support your team and shape the guest experience

Experience

  • Experience leading a team to success in a fast-paced customer-facing service environment
  • Experience managing costs within your control for the property, aligned with objectives and KPIs
  • Experience working in environments with clear frameworks and standard operating procedures
  • Experience leading an operational team with varied skills
  • Experience coaching team members to reach their potential and handling tough conversations when required
