Your role as a Continuous Improvement Engineer is to drive operational excellence by embedding Lean VTPS principles and Six Sigma methodologies across the operational functions of the business. This role is responsible for training employees, defining and maintaining process standards, leading improvement projects, and facilitating structured problem-solving to achieve measurable business results. You will report to the Operations Manager.
You will:
- Deliver Lean Six Sigma training programs to employees at all levels using the VTPS material.
- Coach and mentor teams to build internal capability in continuous improvement.
- Define, document, and maintain Lean manufacturing standards and best practices.
- Lead cross-functional Lean Six Sigma projects to reduce waste, improve quality, and optimise efficiency.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and structured problem-solving sessions.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and cost savings.
- Represent PCC at group and global level VTPS meetings/calls.
To succeed, you will need:
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Flexible and capable of working in a complex environment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Confident with working on own initiative.
- Excellent IT literacy, being a competent user of MS Office.
- Use of risk mitigation tools to control risks within projects and prioritise risk to be mitigated.
- Ability to develop technical solutions, compliant with requirements within agreed programmes and timescales.
