Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Role:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be joining a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers working on our next generation for cryogenic vacuum pumps and chillers. They will lead the engineering/project team in the design, analysis, testing, and validation of Refrigerators, Compressors and Pumps through full Product Life Cycle. This will involve developing and implementing innovative solutions, leading the product development process, and working on a cross-functional team to deliver projects on-time

Main Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following key areas:
- Lead New Product Introduction Projects related to Industrial Products including Pumps, Compressors, and Accessories.
- Innovate new products ideas and testing methodologies to support multi-generation product plan
- Guide a team of engineers and technicians through Design, Technical Reviews, Modelling, Analysis, Verification, Validation, and Design Transfer
- Responsible for full lifecycle planning from System Level Requirements to Final Release of Product to Customers
- Work closely with other functions to ensure goals related to product cost, product quality, and product lead times are met
- Chair Design Reviews with Project Team and other SMEs. Document the findings and follow through on Actions and Decisions
- Develop Test Plans that are aligned with the Performance Objectives driven by System Specifications
- Work closely with Applications Engineers and Product Management Team to develop Technical Requirements Specifications
- Provide inputs to Multi-Generation Technology Plans, Multi-Generation Product Plans, and Competitive Assessment
- Perform estimates of effort and duration for tasks, ensuring the design meets cost and schedule goals
- Publish White Papers, Technical Bulletins, and Engineering Reports to build Technical Knowledge Repository
- Develop novel system, product, and component concepts to develop intellectual property and file patents
It goes without saying that you’ll:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline with minimum of 7+ years of industrial experience or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, a minimum of 5+ years of industrial experience
- Have a demonstrated track record of leading Design Development projects in Industrial Products with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
- Have a high proficiency in GD&T, CAD Modeling (Solidworks and/or Creo preferred)
- Have extensive experience in Conceptual Designs, Prototyping, and Functional Testing on Industrial Products like Pump, Refrigerators, or Compressors
- Have expertise with the developing and executing Design Verification Test Methodologies, at the component and system level, utilizing risk analysis tools.
- Have experience conducting Failure Analysis/Root Cause investigations
- Have experience in a manufacturing environment and familiar with design for manufacturing and assembly principles (DfM/DfA)
- Have strong written and verbalcommunication skills to communicate Technical Information to a broad range of audience including Cross-Functional Leadership Team
- Have a track record of having driven work assignments to completion, with accuracy and timeliness
- Have demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team
