Your role as a Senior Mechanical Engineer - NPI is to deliver best practice mechanical engineering of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will report to the Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the technical delivery of mechanical engineering expertise to a project, including subsystems and technology developments.
- Lead and guide 'Mechanical Engineering' activities across applicable projects.
- Advocate and support the adoption of best practice mechanical engineering to improve the delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality and specification, ensuring effective technical governance for safety, compliance, quality and reliability.
- Support the creation and distribution of work packages across multiple cross-functional teams, guiding the project toward successful completion and volume production.
- Ensure mechanical engineering of product development meets stakeholder and product requirements, compliant with relevant regulations, directives and standards by design.
- Act as a role model for junior members of staff, providing relevant training and ensuring consistency and quality.
To succeed, you will need:
- Engineering Degree Bachelors (minimum, essential), Masters (desirable), or demonstrable equivalent.
- Working towards and committed to achieving registration with a recognised engineering institution (desirable).
- Experience of design for x principles (x being manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability etc) (Essential).
- Preparedness to undertake further professional development through training courses to increase knowledge and enhance capabilities (essential).
- Experience of mechanical engineering and design in a relatable engineering industry (desirable).
- 3D and 2D CAD skills (Essential).
- Ability to focus on delivering to project milestones and timescales (Essential).
- Ability to interpret requirements and technical deliverables and translate this into robust design solutions (Essential).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of mechanical design engineering best practice (Essential).

Job location: This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our site in Bristol, United Kingdom (GB).
