Key Responsibilities

  • Facilities
  • To be responsible for ensuring all facility equipment is working, serviced and adhering to regulations.
  • To oversee any subcontracted project on site, ensuring all work has been carried out to the required standard(s) and predetermined methods, and any follow-up visits are carried out as planned.
  • To be responsible for ensuring both site services are working correctly at all times.
  • Respond to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • To be responsible for conducting any site repairs that are not subcontracted.
  • To support the maintenance department with Electrical/Mechanical work if required.
  • Project Design
    • To manage and support a number of key projects simultaneously for different areas within the business to support the ongoing drive for innovative and technological advances within our manufacturing processes.
    • To be responsible for the introduction and implementation of digitalization around the business as required.
    • To oversee process and plant ergonomic improvement design; to improve product movement and flow, reducing/eliminating non-value added time.
    • To contribute to plant and process automation, digitalization, ergonomic enhancements, layout changes and process improvement projects.
    • To be responsible for coordinating with other parties to collect and distribute project information accordingly and in a timely manner ensuring key milestones are achieved.

    • To aid other members in any emergency or critical response.
    • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company.

    Essential Qualifications / Person Specifications

    • Time served within an engineering discipline (electrical bias) with a minimum of an ONC, BTEC National, City & Guilds or NVQ level 3.
    • Previous experience in conducting site facilities and/or site installation work.
    • Experience with or self-driven to learn project management training.
    • Experience in fast moving environment.
    • Flexible according to project/business needs.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with customer-focused attitude.
    • Able to identify important conclusions from engineering/test data.
    • Self-driven attitude to learn new skills and keep up to date with new emerging technologies.

    Desirable Qualifications / Person Specifications

    • Experience working with eCAD software.
    • Knowledge of industry 4.0 enabling technologies.
    • Fork lift truck & IPAF license.
    • Awareness of when to escalate technical concerns.
    • Resilient, optimistic, and able to work outside their comfort zone.
    • Able to develop and maintain successful working relationships.
