To support and cooperate with the UK Business Line Manager to build the business in the UK so a desired NIS growth level and profitability can be achieved. Deliver a strong commitment to high quality customer support.
As a Operations Manager UK,
- You will need to effectively promote the Atlas Copco company image
- To attain and ensure that the rental depots meet or exceed ISO 9001, 14000 and 18001 standards.
- To ensure that the rental depots adhere to the most stringent of safety standards.
- Ensure that SHEQ KPI targets are achieved, and standards remain at a high level. Hold monthly safety meetings and monitor performance.
- Maintain and manage the UK fleet in accordance with KPI targets. These targets include both utilization, unavailability and return on rent.
- Ensure that operational costs are controlled within defined levels and minimised where possible.
- Manage both offshore, industrial and steam service team leaders, ensuring the effective operation of the UK rental business.
- Manage the Purchase to Pay system in the UK Rental team. Ensure all relevant checks are made on suppliers to the business.
- Interface with the other Atlas Copco companies in the UK and overseas utilizing their personnel and expertise when needed.
- To review training needs, review staff knowledge write and implement training courses. Carry out yearly appraisals.
- Attend monthly sales and management meetings and give input from the service department. Prepare and present UK status at BRM’s and similar meetings.
- Maintain a log of service deficiencies and equipment break-downs. Carry out quality improvements logging and audits.
- To regularly liaise with service team leaders and internal departments ensuring that common goals are achieved. Hold monthly service meetings, issue service bulletins as needed.
- To collate information from the service team leaders, in order to accurately record and maintain customer records and information.
- To be involved in and execute special projects and missions both on and off site. Product training where and when needed.
- To be responsible for and keep all necessary registers like PPE, tools, waste, and inventory up to date
- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
- Closely mentor and develop the service department, both team leaders and field service.
Experience Required:Relevant and proven industrial support experience. Preferably in the compressed air industry or similar
Knowledge:Must be self-directed and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Must have proven business analysis skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Travel, both domestic and international, will be required. Must have a valid UK driving license
Educational requirements:Degree in business or engineering preferred, or equivalent through experience
Personality requirements:You must have excellent communication skills. Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills. Must be an efficient, proven multi-tasker who has a high level of energy and remains calm in high energy environment. Must be independent and able to achieve targets with minimum supervision. Must be highly customer service oriented, dependable and a team player.
