Would you like the opportunity to develop an exciting and rewarding career in sales in our global market-leading company with our Flagship Products? Working in the field sales team, you’ll be responsible for developing existing territories and increasing market share by selling equipment in North West of England.

This role is to work in collaboration with the Compressor Technique Service (CTS) Division to provide aftersales service cover to support all products sold. Maximise customer awareness so that sales opportunities for Low Pressure blowers, Heat Pumps, Process Cooling, Vacuum and Process Filtration opportunities are identified and shared with the specialist Business Development Manager.

The role:

  • Planning and prioritising personal sales activities and customer/prospect contract to achieve business aims, including sales, market share and profitability – especially managing personal time and productivity by effective planning to enable both field based customer activities and office based activities. Travelling to customer sites will make up a minimum of 60% of the working week.
  • Maintaining and developing existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maximizing sales opportunities of all products in the Oil Free Air product portfolio whilst maintaining regular contact with all key account, existing and prospective customers. From initial enquiry to final negotiation.
  • Travel to and carry out site surveys and advice which and where Atlas Copco Products can help improve the system or improve energy efficiency. By providing technical advice to both existing and potential customers including written reports and reports using bespoke software.
  • Preparing detailed proposals using internal CRM package and Microsoft/Adobe software packages.
  • Supporting sales with demonstrations, exhibitions.
  • Supporting sales through the effective provision of sales data, including the timely recording of visit and action reports (including lost order reports) and analysis of sales performance against budgets.
  • Liaising with colleagues and other group divisions and business lines on regional and national level on sales and marketing activities where appropriate to ensure that the best solution is offered to maximise group sales and market share.
  • Using customer and prospect contact activities, tools and systems, and updating relevant information held in these systems.
  • Attending and actively partaking in sales meetings and ensuring all subsequent action required is undertaken.
  • Promoting the business by supporting the Business Line Manager and other team members in achieving sales.
  • Attending training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Adhering to health and safety policy and other requirements relating to care of equipment.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Proven sales experience, selling capital equipment. Preferably Oil Free Air Compressors/ Systems and large project/long cycle sales.
  • A technical background or qualification – although this is not essential. If you have a good sales background, positive attitude and aptitude to learn, we can teach you the rest!
  • Experience or knowledge of the compressed air industry.
  • A full UK driving licence, because this is a field-based job and you will be travelling on a daily basis across your region.
  • Excellent IT skills, and desire to learn new systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
