Your role as a Lead Systems Engineer - A&D involves applying Systems Engineering for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role spans from concept to customer commissioning and field trials, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget and to specification.

You will:

  • Work at the core of our engineering and product development teams using Systems Engineering tools and methods to bring clarity from ambiguity.
  • Translate our product vision into clear and concise Requirements using Systems Engineering processes such as Use Cases, Context Diagrams, Architectures and more.
  • Use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to develop Functional, Logical, and Behavioural architectures to understand the operations and flow of the System.
  • Work collaboratively with and effectively influence all our engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade-off studies, and resolve engineering issues.
  • Lead and coach a growing core team of Systems Engineers of all levels of expertise to continue their development towards being a Lead SE themselves.
  • Contribute to the Systems Engineering process development and ethos and its integration into the wider company, educating other employees in Systems Engineering to resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Systems Engineering Degree Bachelors (minimum essential), Masters (desirable), or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards (desirable).
  • Associated Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) qualified (desirable).
  • More than 5 years’ experience of practical application of best-practice Systems Engineering in a relatable engineering industry (essential).
  • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry such as the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry including product safety and compliance to applicable standards (desirable).
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels (essential).
  • Able to take ownership and control of a situation and bring people with them even though they may not be direct reports (essential).
  • High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set the standard, and hold people accountable to deliver (essential).
