Your role as a Lead Mechanical Engineer - A&D involves delivering best practice mechanical engineering of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and leading a team of Engineers. You will report to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager.
Accountabilities include:
- Technical delivery of mechanical engineering expertise to projects, including subsystems and technology developments.
- Leading and guiding 'Mechanical Engineering' activities across applicable projects, potentially managing a team of approximately 6 mechanical engineers.
- Advocating and leading the adoption of best practice mechanical engineering to improve delivery in terms of time, cost, quality, and specification, while ensuring effective technical governance for safety, compliance, quality, and reliability.
- Devising and distributing work packages across multiple cross-functional teams, guiding projects through milestones to completion and volume production.
- Ensuring mechanical engineering of product development meets stakeholder and product requirements, compliant with relevant regulations, directives, and standards.
- Developing Subject Matter Expertise in relevant areas of mechanical engineering for semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
To succeed, you will need:
- Engineering Degree (Bachelors minimum, essential; Masters desirable) or demonstrable equivalent.
- Registered Chartered Engineer or working towards registration with a recognised engineering institution (desirable).
- Substantial experience in mechanical engineering and design in a relatable engineering industry (essential).
- Experience in a regulated, compliance-driven industry such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment (desirable), with strong understanding of product safety and compliance to applicable standards (essential).
- Preparedness to undertake further professional development through training courses to enhance knowledge and capabilities (essential).
