Your role
As a Medical Gas Installation Engineer at Beacon Medaes, your mission is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant installation of medical gas pipeline systems across healthcare facilities.
You will play a critical role in supporting patient safety by delivering high-quality installations that meet HTM 02-01 standards and exceed customer expectations.
The role
- Install, test, and commission medical gas pipeline systems in hospitals and healthcare environments, including method statements, and risk assessments.
- Test and pre-commission installations in line with the pertaining industry standard.
- Carry out final connections of piped gas systems.
- Interpret and work from mechanical services drawings.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant standards, including HTM 02-01 and ISO 7396-1.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and hospital staff to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation and installation records.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and subcontractors when required.
- Represent Beacon Medaes professionally on-site, maintaining strong customer relationships.
- To succeed, you will need
- Proven experience in medical gas pipeline installation or a similar mechanical engineering field.
- Valid MGPS Competent Person (CP) or Authorised Person (AP) certification (HTM 02-01).
- Strong understanding of HTM 02-01, ISO 7396-1, and other relevant standards.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Nationally to various sites.
- CSCS card and relevant health & safety certifications (e. g., SSSTS, PASMA, IPAF) are advantageous.
