Your role As the Advanced Engineering Manager at Edwards, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation within our Semiconductor Vacuum division's global engineering framework. Leading a diverse and talented team, your mission is to architect and implement a comprehensive strategy that encompasses engineering tools, development processes, and capability enhancement to accelerate product innovation worldwide. Reporting directly to the Head of R&D Operations, your role is crucial in ensuring our engineering systems foster rapid time-to-market, exceptional product quality, and distinctive product differentiation across a broad and complex portfolio.
You will develop and maintain a cohesive vision for digital engineering, integrating key components such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), systems engineering methodologies, requirements management workflows, advanced simulation techniques, and emerging AI-driven technologies. Championing the Engineering digital transformation journey towards model-based engineering, you will enable seamless digital continuity throughout the product lifecycle - from initial concept and design through manufacturing, deployment, and end-of-life phases. Collaborating closely with R&D, IT, supply chain, and external partners, you will cultivate an ecosystem that supports innovation, agility, and sustainability.
This is a leadership role that requires strategic thinking, hands‑on expertise, and a passion for developing scalable engineering solutions that set industry benchmarks. Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering systems, PLM, digital transformation, or systems engineering within complex industrial or semiconductor equipment sectors.
- Strong expertise in managing PLM platforms and comprehensive engineering toolchains.
- Deep understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management, and engineering configuration management practices.
- Experience driving integration of enterprise-level tool ecosystems and digital lifecycle management.
- Proven track record with AI/ML implementation in engineering or product development workflows is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional influencing, negotiation, and leadership skills across multiple organizational levels and cultures, including executive management.
- Capacity to inspire ownership and collaboration among teams without direct reporting lines.
