Your role as a Senior Operational Buyer is to ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of raw materials to meet production demands and support the sites’ production schedule. You will play a key role in developing operational buying capabilities through supplier management, process improvement, and team collaboration to strengthen the department’s ability to support business needs. You will manage the procurement of raw materials to ensure consistent supply aligned with production schedules.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, negotiating terms and monitoring performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with planning, production, and commercial teams to align purchasing activities with business needs and strategic goals.
- Supporting the development of operational buying processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
- Mentoring and supporting Buyers, sharing knowledge and best practices to build a resilient and capable operational buying team.
- Generating and analysing Supply Chain KPIs to drive continuous improvement in service levels and inventory performance.
To succeed, you will need:
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills: Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels within the business, utilising effective verbal and written communication.

- Strong Analytical skills with a methodical approach to Problem Solving.

- Strong proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills.
- Commercial awareness to make appropriate decisions balancing potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.
