Your role as a Project Manager - Sustaining involves managing the day-to-day operational aspects of complex NPI projects ($5-10M+) to ensure they are delivered according to agreed specifications, timescales, and budgets while following company procedures.
You will report to the Programmes Manager.
- Ensure the project meets its performance and timescale objectives as defined by the Master Specification.
- Create a cross-functional project plan encompassing all tasks required to deliver the project in adherence to the product commercialisation process (PCP).
- Plan projects and agree timescales with the Programme Manager.
- Ensure all required resources and skills are available to deliver the project and its milestones, adhering to agreed dates.
- Highlight resource and/or planning issues in advance to the Programme Manager.
- Lead the Project team's activities through a centrally visible plan, regularly reporting progress, dealing with exceptions, and escalating as appropriate.
- Monitor the project plan; any deviance should be mitigated by immediate intervention or escalated to the Programme Manager.
To succeed, you will need:
- A good Engineering/Scientific degree.
- Project management qualification would be desirable, preferably Prince 2, APM certified, or equivalent.
- 5 years involvement in the process of product development in a high technology environment, with 3 years' experience in a Project Management capacity.
- A proven ability to manage complex projects with a strong understanding of delivering products on time, to specification, and on budget.
- A proven ability to generate resource plans and drive schedule adherence while maintaining the flexibility required to react to rapidly changing customer and company needs.
- Good communication skills and excellent fluency in spoken and written English.

- Influencing, communication, presentation, and negotiating skills, both internally and externally.
- Ability to make things happen at all levels by seeing the need to communicate, elevate, and facilitate.
