The role supports the delivery of UK corporate tax compliance, reporting, and governance for Atlas Copco’s UK holding and trading entities. It provides exposure to the tax operations of a global industrial group, combining hands‑on compliance work with involvement in employee tax reporting, transfer pricing, and wider tax projects. The position is designed for someone who wants to build a strong technical foundation within a well‑established in‑house tax function.
Responsibilities
- Management of the corporation tax compliance process.
- Calculation of tax provisions for internal group reporting.
- Preparation of RDEC and Patent Box claims.
- Management of HMRC business risk reviews and internal audits.
- Responsibility for adherence with UK tax governance requirements.
- Provision of tax support for employment tax filings including PSA, P11D, business visitor reporting and employment‑related securities.
- Reviewing changes in UK and international law to assess the impact on the UK group.
- Provision of tax advice on acquisitions, integrations, and internal reorganisations.
- Contribute to improvements in tax processes, controls, and automation across the UK group.
Qualifications & Skills
- ACA/ACCA or CTA qualified with ideally some experience of working in a multinational in‑house tax function.
- A strong background in UK corporate tax is essential, including tax compliance and tax reporting.
- Some exposure to employment taxes would be useful.
- Good analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks across multiple UK entities.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with finance, HR, and operational teams.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfortable working with financial and employee‑related data.
- Understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP tax accounting principles.
