Your mission as Field Service Engineer is to maintain and service the company’s rental fleet assets to the set goals and standards, whilst providing a professional, competent, courteous and prompt service to all Atlas Copco customers, over a varied product and service range, including but not limited to compressed air and power generation equipment. You will be involved in substantial offshore and international assignments for extended durations of time, alternated with repair and field service activities in our depot and with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing and maintenance on varied compressed air equipment, power generation equipment, and associated products.
  • Carry out work according to service schedules, conduct test procedures and record information; highlight any service issues on site that may affect equipment performance, safety and or reliability.
  • Effectively diagnose electrical faults on a varied range of equipment and associated products and conduct fault‑finding assessments and elimination processes.
  • Maximise the commission of new equipment by understanding and interpreting electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Complete documentation in a professional manner.
  • Induct customers as required, in the general operations of fleet equipment.
  • Undertake training courses for customers when commissioning or setting up equipment at site.
  • Ensure that all field rental equipment is maintained in accordance with expected standards.
  • Assist Management with client technical support – completion of concise reports, and when required participate in discussions/meetings with customers.
  • Participate in call‑out duties – answer telephone calls 24/7 when required and attend field call‑outs as necessary.
  • Maintain test instruments to ensure they remain in good condition. Check calibration prior to use, follow correct operating instructions, indicate when repair or recalibration is due.
  • Adhere to and comply with company QHSEE standards – comply with all procedures and processes applicable to the company standards of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.
  • Identify and nominate areas or processes for continual improvement.
  • Conduct all assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar rental environment or business role.
  • Good IT literacy, including the use of business information systems.
  • Strong and proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to utilise appropriate interpersonal styles and methods during group interactions.
  • Understanding and demonstration of awareness of the link between role and business.
  • Able to positively persuade, convince and impress others to achieve results.
  • Able to maintain organisation, ethical and social values in all business activities.
  • Able to express ideas and receive, exchange information clearly.
  • Able to establish and implement a systematic course of action to achieve an objective effectively and efficiently.

Desirable Requirements

  • Able to identify alternatives to current thinking; ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to problems.
  • Able to promote, develop and maintain a culture conducive to quality throughout the organisation and improve performance.
  • Understanding of Atlas Copco products (PTS, PNS, NG, Generators, etc.) and/or knowledge of diesel‑driven air compressors and associated equipment.

Educational Requirements

  • Formal recognised time‑served apprenticeship or relevant work experience.
  • City & Guilds / BTEC equivalent or industry relevant qualifications.
  • Good competency in digital tools such as MS Office, SharePoint, AS400 or other ERP.
