Joining the Development Engineer within the Fastening Technology Group, responsible for leading development projects through Atlas Copco’s lean-agile process to deliver smart, sustainable, and industry-leading automotive fastener solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of fastening and coating solutions: Deliver projects from concept to launch in line with Atlas Copco’s lean-agile development process.
- Contribute to realizing the product portfolio vision: Advance fastener and coating technologies to meet industry needs and customer challenges.
- Collaborate with global teams, customer centers, and application labs: Identify opportunities, test new concepts, and co-develop customer-centric solutions.
- Ensure successful industrialization: Follow structured quality processes (APQP, PPAP), ensuring compliance with IATF standards and customer expectations.
- Investigate and implement new materials, surface treatments, and process technologies: Enhance product performance, quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams: Develop scalable solutions for manufacturing, testing, and application of fasteners and coatings.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Plan and manage projects: Set objectives, timelines, and resource plans.
- Report on progress: Highlight risks, mitigation actions, and support needs.
- Coordinate technical work packages: Engage engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.
- Support customer projects: Evaluate fastening and coating solutions for specific needs.
- Drive collaboration: Promote a solution-oriented approach across teams.
Other Duties
- Support investigations: Resolve performance issues through root cause analysis.
- Participate in forums: Represent Atlas Copco’s fastener and coating technologies.
- Professional development: Stay updated on industry trends.
- Promote safety and sustainability: Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Travel/support other departments: As needed for projects or business needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Industry experience in product development or relevant academic qualifications in engineering or related fields.
- Knowledge of stage gate processes, design for manufacture, and compliance standards (ISO9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016).
- Proficiency with solid modeling, CAD, and physical testing instrumentation.
- Understanding of materials science, FE analysis, machining, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Experience in high-precision component industries, meeting targets and deadlines.
