As a Development Engineer within the Research and Development department, you will be responsible for developing and validating innovative Self-Pierce Riveting fastening products, and coating technologies that deliver robust, production-ready joining solutions for the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate new Self Pierce Riveting fasteners, and product ranges through laboratory testing and engineering evaluation.
- Design, assess, and optimise coating technologies to improve fastener performance, corrosion resistance, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to solve joining challenges and commit to delivering reliable, production-ready fastening solutions.
- To succeed, you will need
- A background, qualification, or experience in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience or a strong interest in innovation, product development, and practical engineering problem solving.
- Knowledge of fastening technologies, joining processes, coatings, materials, or automotive manufacturing would be advantageous.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Curiosity, adaptabilityand initiative, to learn new technologies, digital tools, and innovative ways of working.
