Your role as a Drawing Engineer involves undertaking site surveys and audits of Medical Gas Pipeline Services (MGPS) and equipment. The facilities layout drawings should be labelled and marked up suitable for accurate and detailed as-fitted drawings to be produced by either yourself or the back office sales support/design services team.
You will contribute to growing sales revenue for drawing and design services, visiting both existing and new hospital clients on a nationwide basis. This will range from multiple days on site at acute hospitals to day visits at private hospitals, community hospitals, hospices, veterinary hospitals, etc.
Your responsibilities include:
- Generating sales leads to installation and service teams for equipment replacement and maintenance.
- Promoting drawing services both out in the field and through social media, mailshots, etc.
- Conducting site surveys of medical gas pipeline systems (MGPS) and equipment.
- Providing compliance or risk audits with the existing MGPS using MyMedGas where suitable.
- Updating and adding asset information to the cloud asset management platform MyMedGas.
- Producing MGPS design, flow rate and pressure drop reviews to determine existing system capacity.
- Identifying valve labelling (up to source equipment main valve).
- Ongoing drawing updates (contract).
- Maintaining a flexible and adaptive approach to our changing business landscape.
To succeed, you will need:
- A higher-level qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, an equivalent qualification in a related business field, or relevant industry experience.
- Experience in reading and producing CAD layout drawings.
- Experience of on-site environments within healthcare or similar industries.
- A driving licence.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently onsite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in CAD software packages.
- Past experience with onsite auditing of medical gases or related industries is desirable.
