We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Service Manager to join our team and drive our UKservice delivery to new heights.The role will be based at our site in Chessington, Surrey, with some travel to other parts of the UK.

As Service Manager, your mission is to lead with purpose, drive excellence, and foster a culture of high quality customer service. You will elevate performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall profitability by effectively developing and managing both the in-house and field service teams. Your success directly impacts both the service, and the service sales teams at Leybold UK.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as primary interface between service admin, sales and logistics with regard to repair status, warranty decisions and escalations.
  • Coordinate resources, and implement effective planning for all service jobs carried out at the Chessington site.
  • Review quality and performance standards, and create continuousimprovement programmes.
  • Risk management: identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies, particularly related to servicedelays, warranty disputes, or performance.
  • Responsible for the maintenance plan of equipment and facilities at the Chessington site.
  • Manage a team of 10 - 13 employees (including field service engineers and in-house mechanics) to meet service plan and maintenance goals.
  • Recruit and train new employees as required.

Your skills and experience

  • Qualification (for example degree or BTEC) in engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in mechanics, systems, machine tools, electronics or mechantronics.
  • Proven capacity to manage customer expectations.
  • Understanding of how to lead and manage business through relevant KPI's.
  • Good people management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Encourage team members to share innovative ideas and solutions, as well as lessons learned and best practice.
