Edwards Eastbourne are looking to recruit an Electronics Test Support Engineer to join our Test Support Team. Please note: This is not a software testing role or a test operator role. It is a hands‑on engineering role focused on supporting and maintaining automated electronic test equipment used in production.

Duties

  • The role involves supporting a wide range of electronic and computer‑controlled Automated Test Equipment across our production facility in Eastbourne.
  • We are looking for a practical, hands‑on engineer who can provide first‑line troubleshooting for test‑related issues as they arise.
  • You will work on a variety of tasks including equipment fault‑finding, fixture repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding to Test Support tickets.
  • The role also supports engineering activities such as assisting with the redesign of legacy test stations and participating in the validation or commissioning of duplicated test systems.

Experience

  • We are seeking a multi‑disciplined electronic test support engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting automated or semi‑automated electronic test systems in a manufacturing environment.

Key Skills

  • Strong understanding of electronics theory and practical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and work from electronic schematics and system diagrams.
  • Familiarity with test automation environments (e.g., C#, LabVIEW, Python or relevant tools).
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with engineers, managers, and production staff.
  • A structured and logical approach to diagnosing links between hardware, instrumentation, and software.
  • Ability to provide robust, timely fixes to keep production flowing.
  • Hands‑on experience with electronic test fixtures, instrumentation, and test equipment.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Test Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in test engineering or production test support.
