As a Senior Compliance Engineer 1, your mission is to manage the regulatory compliance roadmap for components and products designed and manufactured at Eastbourne PC.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain awareness of product roadmaps in the Vacuum Technique Division and new NPI developments.
  • Develop strategy to ensure coordination within Eastbourne PC and global Vacuum Technique Business Area toward RoHS, REACH, TSCA compliance and their global equivalents including PFAS legislation.
  • Provide feedback to NPI engineers on suitability of new components for new designs.
  • Work with external 3rd parties and partners within VTBA to outsource work and seek efficiencies.
  • Present to the engineering team and other functions on latest compliance stats, highlight risks, develop mitigation actions, and create action plans.
  • Create Declaration of Conformity documentation for all new and existing products.
  • Manage the SCIP database for all products that include components with SVHC concerns.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of electronics design and design trade‑offs for component selection.
  • Strong communicator with excellent fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in a regulated, compliance‑driven industry and understanding of electronics distributor markets.
  • Experience working in a global engineering environment and multidisciplinary design environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant directives for the Vacuum industry an advantage.
  • Good understanding of product development processes; experience with tools such as SAP and Silicon Expert advantageous.

Job Location: On‑Site. This role requires work on‑site at the Eastbourne office, United Kingdom. Occasional travel to other Vacuum Technique sites, key suppliers, and customer sites may be required.
