Position: Technical Projects & Quality Manager (Sales Director / Atlantis Tanks Group Ltd)
Reports to: General Manager
Atlantis Tanks Group Ltd is a leading manufacturer of innovative liquid storage solutions, serving clients across the UK. We pride ourselves on engineering excellence, customer focus, and high-quality products. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Manager to join our team.
Role Overview
This is a dual-role position combining technical estimating with quality management. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate costings and quotations for bespoke tank solutions while also helping to ensure the quality of our products and service to the industries we serve, including ensuring compliance with industry standards and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to produce accurate cost estimates and specifications for liquid storage solutions that meet the customers needs.
- Understand customer requirements including generator and tank control philosophy.
- Liaise with sales, design, and production teams to prepare detailed quotations and proposals.
- Source and evaluate material, labour, and subcontractor costs.
- Provide technical input to customers during the quotation stages and in aftersales.
- Maintain pricing databases and update costing models.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and customer requirements.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement for the industry sector that you serve.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on technical products and processes.
- Collaborate with production to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and uphold product excellence.
Project Management
- Manage projects from estimating stage through to delivery.
- Sign off on drawings and carry out quality checks on each project ensuring that they meet the necessary standards, both electrically and mechanically.
- Report on KPIs per project.
- Inspect and advise other persons and departments involved in a project, e.g., fit-out.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in the Power Generation industry, ideally with tanks, but especially with controls, electrical and mechanical.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating/ERP software.
- Strong technical skills and understanding; practical mindset.
- Knowledge of liquid storage tank standards, including British Standards and others.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical diagrams and requirements.
