We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 Occupational Therapists to work under the supervision of band 6, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the specified area providing specialist occupational therapy input aimed at achieving maximum independence for all service users.
Main duties:
- The post holder is under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead.
- There may be responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of and referral to support staff.
- The post may involve flexible hours, weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis and provision of cover across the community and the community hospitals.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration with OT qualifications.
- Appropriate clinical experience in acute setting.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Pre or post-graduate experience working with patients/clients in any of the following clinical/work areas - stroke rehab; social services; mental health; paediatrics; palliative care.
- Experience of specialist assessments such as cognitive, perceptual, wheelchair assessments, carer's assessments and Multi-Factorial Falls Assessments.
- Experience of following interventions: DFG process; cognitive or perceptual assessments; wheelchair assessments.
- Experience or skills for supervision of OT Assistant or Tech 3 and OT students.
