We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Midwife to join our Maternity Services team in West Midlands. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to women and their families throughout the maternity pathway, ensuring their involvement in decision-making during pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate women\’s involvement in decisions about their pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.
- Deliver safe and effective midwifery care based on the latest evidence and guidelines.
- Recognise deviations from normality and elevate appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care.
- Identify and act on safeguarding concerns related to women, unborn babies, and other children.
- Maintain a high standard of clinical knowledge and keep updated on the use of clinical equipment.
- Contribute to audits and provide statistical evidence related to Maternity‑Led Unit (MLU) activity.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse and / or Midwife with the NMC.
- Strong knowledge of evidence‑based midwifery care through CPD and practical experience.
- Level 3 Child Protection training and solid understanding of child safeguarding, domestic violence, and substance misuse.
- Experience in developing protocols, conducting audits, and managing obstetric and medical emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills for working with patients, families, and colleagues, and handling complaints effectively.
