We need passionate and experienced mental health nurses to work in a well-established team at an acute hospital in South East England, to assist and support general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold our core values of promoting openness, transparency and learning.
- Effectively run the shift and attend regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans.
- Build relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.
- Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor side effects.
- Accurately record patient information and communicate with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs.
- Offer support and supervise the practice of junior staff and student nurses to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Involved in the screening, assessment and follow-up support of patients.
- Provide care and support to patients and families and work effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Skills:
- Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD / Adult) appropriate to the job role.
- Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
- Change management, organising and prioritising workloads.
- Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
